Sept Spotlights

Each month we will be recognizing our amazing teachers across our district.  Our staff at Lafayette County C-1 is hard at work and they do a fantastic job.  This months Teacher Spotlights are Mrs. Tiffany Bollmeyer, Mrs. Ashley Stockman, and Ms. Amanda Yoder.

"Tiffany Bollmeyer has done an amazing job with consistency for her students as we start the year. She has gone above and beyond to think outside the box to support her students and parents. She is constantly seeking ideas and contacting parents. Tiffany is building a true school community within her classroom! " Dr. Jenni Hayes, Grandview Elementary Principal

Mrs. Bollmeyer shares, " I believe that my education, a strong upbringing, my wonderful mentors, and my experiences with my students and colleagues have made me the teacher I am today. The importance of consistency is that my students will always know the expectations that we develop in our classroom. I strive to think of different educational/behavioral approaches to reach each individual child and where they are at in their journey. My students will always know that I truly care not only about their education, but also them as individuals. I strive to help shape my students' future!"

Great job, Mrs. Bollmeyer!

"Mrs. Stockman's dedication extends beyond the classroom as she actively participates in various school initiatives. She is a key member of several committees at the middle school, and her contributions have been invaluable. Her commitment to the school's mission and vision is exemplary, and her involvement in extracurricular activities, such as coaching, has a positive impact on the overall school experience for students.

Perhaps one of the most significant strengths of Mrs. Stockman is her ability to build positive relationships with her students. She goes above and beyond to understand their individual needs, interests, and challenges. This personal connection with her students not only enhances their academic growth but also creates a supportive and nurturing atmosphere in which learning is truly enjoyable.

Mrs. Stockman is an exemplary educator who consistently goes above and beyond to inspire and educate her students. Her passion for teaching, openness to new ideas, positive interactions, and active involvement in the school community make her an asset to our middle school LCC1 team." - Dr. Kelley Logan, Middle School Principal

Mrs. Stockman shares, "Being able to make/build relationships with students is what makes me the teacher I am today. I feel like relating to the students and showing them that I actually care is what makes me want to become a better teacher. All of my lessons are always different based off of all the personalities in each class. One of my favorites would probably be when we have to actually draw shapes based on measurements, we like to poke fun at each other at how ridiculous looking our shapes are, they usually look like a small child has drawn it! I have to remind them that I am a horrible artist and I will never grade them on their drawing abilities. I want all of my students to feel supported in my classroom, it helps build those relationships and from years past always makes students trust and work hard for me!

Keep making a positive impact Mrs. Stockman!

"Ms. Yoder has done an excellent job getting her students on track for success this year. In addition to her classroom duties, she has been actively working with her e-sports team as they prepare for their upcoming competition season. Also, Ms. Yoder has received several staff "shout-outs" for working behind the scenes helping other teachers with technology issues and curriculum support." - Mr. David Honeycutt, High School Principal

Ms. Yoder shares, " My sister and my mom are two of my big inspirations for the type of teacher I want to be. My mom currently teaches orchestra at North Kansas City High School, and my sister used to teach high school math there. During high school, I also had a few different teachers who gave me fantastic examples of what it meant to be a good teacher. To me, helping fellow faculty and staff members requires being willing to look for "how could we make this work" instead of just having an attitude of "we've never done it that way". When our faculty and staff support each other and make it easy to ask for help, we all benefit. Helping each other and meeting the needs of our students both require an open mind and being receptive to change. My why behind pushing for student success is simple: I care about the lifelong outcomes for my students. Every student has the potential for success. It is our little choices each day that determine whether or not we reach our definition of success. I believe that the more students experience the positives of working hard to achieve goals while in school, the more likely they are to have the work ethic, critical thinking skills, and self-confidence to reach their individual life goals after graduation."

Way to go, Ms. Yoder!
